WOW! I am still catching my breath from one of the most extraordinary days in my long, long career. Truly breathtaking. Almost 700 people! No bullshit, no hype. People came from all over the country. From Europe and Asia. We had the CTO’s of the five largest brokerage firms on one stage.
When I was running my PR firm for over twenty-five years, our niche was mostly office and multifamily real estate. We had some big clients in the retail space, but it wasn’t a huge part of our business. But as the concept of mixed-use really started to take off in the 2000’s, more and more of my clients were paying attention to retail trends and, as a result, getting involved with ICSC.
I am back from a week in Los Angeles and I’m still buzzing from all of the excitement. L.A. is a city that’s bustling with energy coming from the media, arts and entertainment sectors, massive amounts of new development and a thriving tech scene. And now, it’s really becoming a hotbed of commercial real estate tech activity. I spent the week meeting with many exciting startups and entrepreneurs and the culmination was our annual CRE // Tech event in L.A. My head is STILL spinning!!!

CommissionTrac is the type of product that will do well in this market cycle. Solutions that make professionals more efficient. From paper to digital. From snail-pace to real time. Actionable intelligence. In my opinion, this is what will be successful in the CRE tech space. And Turner is on this big time with his product.
